Case Study

Wentworth, Houser and Violich

This project had the advantage of beginning with a well-thought-out design phase that included assembling the complete team well in advance of construction, a step that virtually guarantees a successful project. It also had the luxury of full collaboration of the service providers, so that a tailored approach could be developed to meet and exceed the client's specific needs. But of course, the project was not without challenges.

Several weeks after the start of construction, and after contract documents and formal agreements were in place, the Landlord requested that the interiors be LEED Certified. This placed huge demands on the already established team and design. In order to comply, there were endless hours coordinating efforts with the Landlord and their team of LEED Certified Professionals.

Material selections had to be modified, lighting controls overhauled, and light fixture orders that were already placed, had to be revised.

In the end, however, the project was completed on time, and even more impressive, within the budget parameters established at the beginning of the project, prior to the LEED Certification request. And, yes, it was LEED Certified.
