Case Study

Babcock and Brown

This project was given life when, faced with incredible business growth and an influx of new employees, Babcock and Brown quickly outgrew their existing office. The only space available in the building was on the second floor, originally set up for back-office use, and it needed a drastic transformation to fit into the culture and image of the company.

Babcock and Brown, San Francisco

The new space had to be special and inviting, to motivate employees and give them a sense of pride in their work environment. To add to the challenges, the timing of the lease process meant the space had to be designed and constructed in 11 weeks.

The space had exquisite design features. The community area had wood floors and specialty custom sliding glass doors, and used re-claimed wood to form a pivotal centerpiece for the floor. Utilities that had been added over time in the space's previous life were removed to create clean lines, and exposed concrete ceilings were meticulously patched. The perimeter offices were designed with full height glass walls to allow all available natural light to fill the space.

All of this was accomplished within the tight timeline. And more importantly, the employees were happy and comfortable in their new work space.
